Summary: Before Anthony Hopkins was donning a cannibal mask, he took up a bit of ventriloquism. And yes, it was creepy as all Hell.

History: Charles "Corky" Withers didn’t have much of a comedy act for a while. That is, until he met Fats, a dummy that would have pushed him into stardom had he not balked and headed back to the Catskills. There he met a nice lady from his past, and thought about marrying her. But Fats was a bit jealous, and is not keen on letting it happen. Then again, has Fats come to life, or is the somewhat unhinged Corky using him as a mask for murder?

Notable Kills: Fat's big dummy head is used to bludgeon someone to near death before drowning takes care of the rest.

Final Fate: Fats eventually demands that Corky kill his love so that she's out of the way, but instead he stabs himself, causing Fats to go down with him. However, the woman soon begins to talk in the way Fats does...

Powers/Abilities: Possibly possession.

Weakness: If Corky goes down, so does he.

Scariness Factor: 3.5-His comedy is a bit on the mean-spirited side, and he looks fairly creepy as well. But what makes Fats compelling is that we can't be sure if this is a true living puppet, or a way for a man to kill without having to blame himself. The plot just thickens with it all.

Trivia: -This film was directed by Richard Attenborough. Just think what would happen if John Hammond decided that puppets needed a park...

-Originally, Gene Wilder was going to play as Corky (and Fats, by extension), but there were concerns about his silliness distracting from the story. Then again, Wilder gave us that lovely Willy Wonka boat ride, so what gives?!
